To smile means to be happy,
To smile means to be glad,
To smile means to wipe the tears,
You've cried when you're sad.

To smile means hope,
To smile means faith,
To smile means moving on,
despite a shattering heartbreak.

To smile means to warm someone's heart,
To smile means to love without doubt,
To smile means happiness,
To smile means selflessness

To smile means to be content,
of what you've done while you are alive,
To smile means to be thankful,
for the glorious blessings of life.

I may not go further in describing what it means to smile,
I may not go any further for I might cry,
But I'm ready to travel a thousand, even a million miles,
Just to tell you what's in my heart:

I know you love it when I smile,
But what makes this smile so special is that it traveled from my heart
to yours,
beating the miles I have traveled to find you,

Just to smile, cry, turn around, and say good bye.
